BeamNG.drive teleporting: move the vehicle without confusing it with recovery

Teleporting a vehicle changes its location; it does not repair its damage. In BeamNG.drive's documented workflow, move the Free Camera, then use Drop Player at Camera. If the relocated vehicle is still damaged, that is a separate recovery problem.

Confirm which vehicle you intend to move

Select the active vehicle you want to relocate before choosing the destination. In a session with several vehicles, a useful location is not enough if the wrong vehicle is active.

Use Freeroam for an unrestricted practice attempt. A scenario can deliberately limit vehicle recovery or other actions; a missing mission action is not automatically a broken global binding.

Move the camera, then move the vehicle

BeamNG's documented defaults are Shift + C for Toggle Free Camera and F7 for Drop Player at Camera. Enter Free Camera, move to the intended location, then invoke the drop action. If you changed controls, use the named actions in your bindings instead of assuming the defaults still apply.

Choose a clear, suitable arrival area. For example, moving the camera to inspect a mountain road is different from choosing a stable place for the vehicle to land. Check the destination before dropping the vehicle rather than treating every camera view as a usable start position.

Diagnose relocation and damage separately

The official teleporting page says the vehicle arrives as-is and damage is not restored. If it reaches the correct place but still cannot drive normally, teleporting itself may have worked.

Review the separate Recover Vehicle action, documented with Insert, when recovery is the intended task. Inspect what your mode permits before using it. Do not keep moving a damaged vehicle between destinations while expecting the location change to repair it.

Quick answers

Does teleporting restore the vehicle?

No. The official workflow explicitly preserves the vehicle's existing damage.

Must I use the default keys?

No. Follow the named actions in your own control bindings if they differ.
