FC 26 Career feels different from Ultimate Team: check Gameplay Type

FC 26 has different gameplay presets. A settings comparison is incomplete if one match uses Authentic and the other uses Competitive. Establish the mode and Gameplay Type first, then decide whether a slider change is actually available and useful.

Record the mode and preset together

EA’s accessibility guide places Gameplay Type in Game Type Settings. It describes Authentic as maintaining or returning assists to their default setup, and Competitive as applying online-mandatory settings to offline play too. Read both fields before comparing two matches.

Use Custom for an available slider experiment

The documented Custom preset exposes user and CPU adjustments. Change one relevant setting rather than importing an entire list whose starting preset is unknown. Keep a note of the original value so that a worse result has a clear way back.

Compare a repeatable situation

Illustrative check: if your concern is the speed of a Career match, replay a similar offline matchup with the same difficulty and teams. Record preset and the one changed slider. A different online opponent is a poor comparison for deciding whether that offline slider helped. An offline preset does not override a competitive mode’s mandatory rules.

Quick answers

Does Authentic mean every mode uses identical rules?

No. Record the mode as well as the preset.

Should I change several sliders at once?

Use one controlled change first so that its effect can be judged.
