Farming Simulator 25 crop calendar: check the planting window before buying seed
With Seasonal Growth enabled, the crop calendar controls when you can plant and harvest each crop. Check the row for your chosen crop and the current month before buying equipment or seed for the job. A harvest month and a planting month are different parts of that plan.
Reviewed 2026-10-15 · FS25 base-game seasonal farming; mod maps can replace crops and calendars
Read the crop's row and the current setting
Open the calendar and compare your crop with the current period. GIANTS' manual says Seasonal Growth can be disabled to allow planting and harvesting without those seasonal windows. Confirm the setting actually used by your save or server instead of assuming another player's calendar applies.
Plan the next job before committing resources
For example, a field is ready for work but the intended crop's planting window is still ahead. Decide whether to prepare for that window or choose a suitable alternative before buying for an immediate sowing attempt. Keep the intended harvest and storage plan in view; the manual also notes seasonal price changes, so harvest time alone does not determine your preferred sale time.
Check weather and map changes when the plan fails
The manual warns that rain or snow prevents crop harvesting until conditions clear. Check the forecast when a calendar-appropriate harvest still cannot proceed. On a mod map, inspect the author's changes too: the Forest Hills description, for instance, explicitly adds crops and modifies the calendar. Use the active map's data rather than a universal month table copied from a different save.
When your plan breaks
| What happens | What to change |
|---|---|
| I cannot sow the intended crop now | Compare its planting window, current month and Seasonal Growth setting. |
| The harvest window is right but work is blocked | Check rain or snow and the current field state before replacing equipment. |
| My calendar differs from a base-game guide | Check the active map and mod description for changed crops or timing. |
Quick answers
What should I compare with a friend's instructions?
The crop, map, current month and Seasonal Growth setting.
Must harvested crops be sold immediately?
The manual describes storage and seasonal price changes. Compare those with your own cash and storage needs.
