Limbus Company clash loss: check Sanity at the coin roll, not an earlier expectation
Sanity affects the chance of a coin landing heads. A favorable-looking clash is therefore not a promise of every coin result. Check the skill's conditions and the Sanity state used when coins are tossed before concluding that the displayed matchup was a deterministic guarantee.
Reviewed 2026-10-15 · Core coin and Sanity reasoning; individual skill effects and battle rules can change the calculation
Separate power conditions from a favorable label
Read the selected skill's base and coin-dependent effects, then inspect the opposing action. Treat the preview as information for the decision rather than a substitute for those conditions. A plan that only works when a particular roll occurs still carries that condition into the clash.
Account for Sanity changes before the toss
The community battle reference notes Sanity-factor timing and deductions before coins are tossed. If the skill or situation changes SP, inspect when that change applies. Compare the state used for the roll with the state you had in mind; do not assume an earlier Sanity value remains unchanged throughout the action.
Review the failed exchange before changing the whole team
For an illustrative review, record the chosen skill, opposing skill, relevant SP changes and the actual coin outcomes. Separate a possible roll loss from a missed skill condition. Then decide whether the same risk is acceptable or whether another action gives a more suitable result. One exchange does not establish a measured win rate for the matchup.
When your plan breaks
| What happens | What to change |
|---|---|
| A favorable-looking clash still lost | Inspect the actual rolls and conditions instead of treating the preview as a guarantee. |
| The Sanity value differed from my expectation | Check skill costs and when Sanity effects apply before the toss. |
| I cannot explain the result from one screenshot | Keep the selected skills and intervening state changes, not just the final outcome. |
Quick answers
What should I inspect before replacing an Identity?
Whether the loss came from the action's conditions, its resource state or an allowed coin outcome.
Does this page calculate a current optimal team?
No. It supplies a clash-review procedure without claiming a meta ranking or sampled win rate.
