MIR4 Codex registration: the item disappears, so check before confirming

MIR4’s official Codex guide says registered items disappear. Registration exchanges the item for the entry’s benefit; it is not simply an inventory bookmark. Inspect the required item and the benefit before confirming a valuable copy.

Match the item to the entry

Open Menu → Codex and read the selected requirement. The official guide distinguishes Codex, Reputation Codex and Collection Codex. Confirm which entry you are completing, then check whether the selected item is one you still need for another purpose.

Read who receives the benefit and for how long

The guide distinguishes a server Codex from character effects and warns that limited-time Codices apply only for a specified period. Read scope and expiry together. Do not compare a temporary event entry with a lasting character improvement as though their labels meant the same thing.

Make the trade explicit

Illustrative decision: you have one spare item and an entry offering a stat you rarely use. Compare keeping that copy with consuming it for this specific benefit. If the item is needed elsewhere, leave the entry incomplete until you have made that trade deliberately. No registration is required just to inspect the requirement.
