Risk of Rain 2 teleporter: boss defeated but the stage will not end

Defeating the teleporter boss does not complete the event by itself. The teleporter also needs to finish charging. If the boss is dead and progress has stopped, look at where the surviving players are standing before hunting for another enemy.

Find the teleporter before committing to a long shopping route

Look for the orange particles around the teleporter while moving through the stage. Knowing its location lets you choose a route back instead of searching under increasing pressure.

Difficulty rises with time. That creates a choice between collecting useful items and spending longer on the stage. A universal five-minute departure rule cannot tell you whether an unfinished route is worth its cost for your current run. Decide what you are trying to buy and how you will return.

Treat the event as two separate checks

Check the boss objective and the teleporter's charge progress independently. For an ordinary event, the boss must be defeated and charging must finish. Charge needs a living player inside the event radius; a boss kill does not keep it moving while everyone wanders away.

For example, your group kills the boss, then all surviving players leave the circle to collect distant items. The remaining charge stops. The immediate correction is to return to the charge area, not search the whole map for a hidden second boss. Take cover and keep fighting as needed while the event finishes.

Agree on departure before interacting again

After the event is complete, using the teleporter to advance moves the party onward. Before doing so, check whether teammates are ready and whether anyone is completing a specific nearby purchase.

Make a short, deliberate final route rather than an open-ended search for every remaining object. This is a team decision about time and useful resources, not proof that either immediate departure or full looting is always optimal.

Quick answers

Must I kill every ordinary enemy before leaving?

The ordinary teleporter completion checks are the required boss and full charge. Do not confuse remaining regular enemies with a second boss requirement.

Should I always leave each stage at the same minute?

Use time as a cost to weigh against a specific useful purchase. A fixed timer alone does not account for your route, resources or mode.
