Subway Surfers score multiplier: permanent progress versus temporary bonuses

A high multiplier during one run is not necessarily your permanent multiplier. Mission Sets advance the permanent part, while character, Crew and run bonuses can add separate increases. Identify the source before assuming that a lower number means your saved progress was lost.

Complete the set, not just one mission

Open Missions from the home screen or pause menu and inspect the current set. SYBO describes a Mission Set as three missions, with the permanent multiplier increase awarded for completing the whole set.

If one mission is complete but the multiplier has not changed, inspect the other entries before reporting lost progress. Choose a run around the outstanding task rather than repeatedly pursuing a task already marked complete.

Separate the permanent star from character and Crew bonuses

The help page distinguishes yellow-star permanent progress, cyan-star seasonal Crew bonuses and a blue-star character bonus. Check Collections for the Crew and the multiplier display for the currently eligible character.

For example, switching away from the bonus character can change the displayed total without undoing completed Mission Sets. Compare the same character and seasonal conditions before concluding that permanent progress decreased.

Keep run-only boosts out of your permanent-progress comparison

Score Boosters and the picked-up x2 Multiplier are additional run effects. A screenshot captured with those effects active is not a clean comparison with the number at the start of a later run.

SYBO's guidance describes the ordinary mission-based permanent progression reaching x30; optional packs and other bonuses can raise the total beyond that. Therefore a number above x30 is not, by itself, evidence that a player used a cheat or that your own mission progress is broken. Check which components are being added.

Quick answers

Does a single completed mission always raise the multiplier?

The documented reward is for completing the full three-mission set.

Are all stars and boosts permanent?

No. SYBO distinguishes permanent progress from seasonal, character and run-specific effects.
