WARHAMMER III recruitment: a building elsewhere does not make the unit local
Local recruitment and global recruitment are different routes. A military building in one province does not mean every distant army sees the unit in its local list. Start with the selected army’s current position and its available recruitment panel.

Read the local list at the army’s position
The official academy explains that local options depend on the local province’s recruitment infrastructure. Identify where the required building actually stands. If you are away from that province, compare the global option before paying to repeat the same infrastructure somewhere else.
Compare the current quote rather than a fixed multiplier
Global recruitment reaches beyond the local pool, but its costs and duration can differ. The WH3 reference documents modifiers and faction alternatives. Read the displayed turns and price for this army now; an old universal two-times rule is not a substitute for the current quote.
Choose a route before ending the turn
Illustrative choice: a distant army needs one replacement. Compare recruiting there, moving toward the relevant province, and postponing the replacement. Include the delay to your campaign objective and the resulting upkeep. Do not move the army merely to test a hypothesis without reading how the move affects recruitment.
When your plan breaks
| What happens | What to change |
|---|---|
| A unit is absent from the local list | Locate its building and compare the army’s province. |
| The global duration differs from an old guide | Inspect current modifiers and the live recruitment quote. |
| Your faction has a different recruitment interface | Check its faction-specific system instead of forcing the generic route. |
Quick answers
Does global always have the same duration multiplier?
No. Use the current quote and modifiers.
Does this cover every race’s recruitment?
